Presenting Our Narrative

To create our website, we used WordPress. We ultimately decided that WordPress would be the best software to use due to the fact that it is simple and easy to navigate. Many people in our group were new to web design, so we wanted to ensure inclusivity.

We decided to have a red, white, and black theme because those are the colors most associated with both movie theaters and a very popular streaming platform, Netflix. We also made sure that no colors contradicted each other, to make the site as readable as possible.

Since not everyone in our group had experience with Git or GitHub, the version control method that we utilized was just copying and pasting old implementations on Google Docs. That way, if any error occurred, we were able to just revert back to the original implementation.

Meet the Team

Tsz Yam Chong(Teddy)

Project Manager

As project manager, I ensured we met the necessary milestones to complete the project on time. I would reach out to them as deadlines approached, or to check in and see how things were going. I would also offer assistance when needed.

Kaylee Marquez

Web Designer

Some of the responsibilities that I had as a web designer were creating a framework of what the project would look like, actually implementing that framework, and making any necessary changes along the way. I constantly asked my group for feedback to improve the aesthetic of the site, to ensure we got the best possible results.

Peyton Garrett

Data Specialist

As the data specialist, I cleaned and altered our chosen dataset. This ensured the data was as well-organized as possible. I also took the time to teach other team members how to use OpenRefine.

Karla Cardenas-Felipe

Content Developer

As a content developer, I ensured that our website stayed on topic. I also made sure that any visualization was partnered with written content.

Karissa Lee

Data Visualization Specialist

I worked on the project’s data visualization. I worked closely with the data specialist to ensure our visualizations were clear and unbiased. I also ensured there was written content to accompany the visualization.

Clarissa Roman

Editor

I made sure that the project had a consistent design and style. I made sure that the entire project was accessible for everyone as well, because we want our site to reach everybody and anybody.
